Emergency Phones
Call boxes, easily identified by a bright blue light on top of them, are situated at strategic locations throughout campus for emergency use. The phones are activated by simply opening the box. These devices can be used to report a suspicious incident, medical emergency, or request immediate police assistance. Each call is directly linked to the Department of Public Safety communications center and that location is automatically detected so that DPS may dispatch an officer immediately to provide assistance.
There are outdoor emergency phones located on or near the exterior of all residence halls and most university buildings. They are also located on the campus walkways, at the parking garage, and additionally there are elevator phones in various campus buildings.
