Student Guards
Student guards play an integral role in protecting the campus community. They supplement security guards at the entrances to residence halls and other facilities to help maintain security and enforce building access policies. On the main campus, approximately 100 student guards assist the Department of Public Safety in controlling access to New South, LXR, Kennedy Hall, Darnall Hall, Copley Hall, Harbin Hall, Village C, Reiss Science Building, Lauinger Library, McCarthy Hall, Reynolds Hall and Walsh.
Student guards are trained each semester. They do not have arrest powers but work with officers in the Department of Public Safety to identify potential problems and respond to incidents that may arise.
Students interested in applying for a position may contact Associate Director, Doris Bey via email at db42@georgetown.edu or by calling her at (202) 687-4343.
