Public Safety Announcement: Burglary in Village A
At 2:19 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2008, a complainant reported to DPS that he left his room at 9:00 p.m. and returned at 2:00 a.m. to find that his laptop computer, speakers and a digital camera were gone. There were no signs of forced entry or damage to the front door. The Department of Public Safety would like to remind all students to practice the following security measures:
- On campus students should call DPS at 202-687-4343 regarding any safety concerns.
- Off campus students with immediate safety concerns should call MPD at 911 and DPS at 687-HELP.
- Practice security at home by not propping doors open, always keeping doors and windows locked, even when you are in residence, and not opening the door to strangers.
- Students noticing suspicious activities or individuals loitering around entrances to residence halls, apartments, or townhouses should immediately notify DPS at 202-687-4343.
